The PFC is in the process of filling the roles of the standing committees and the executive committee. Some of you have already experienced the benefits of volunteering at Northgate and may want to continue in your current role, some might want to try something new. We would also like to welcome the newest families and ask if there is a particular interest for your volunteerism.
We have a few “retirees” on the Executive Committee, whose positions must be filled for a successful 2016-2017 school year. Those positions are President and a co-chair for the Education Fund. While these positions generally require more hours, the remaining Committee members and the Northgate Administration Team make the job easy!
Please email which committee interests you. If you would like to co-chair with a friend, email both names together. Have fun and get to know the students, staff and other great parents through volunteering!

10 Parents needed for
Northgate’s WASC Report
2 one-hour Wed-afternoon meetings per month
from April, 2016 to February, 2017
The accreditation by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC) is used by schools to monitor student learning and set school improvement goals. ACS WASC accreditation is an ongoing cycle of quality. Schools assess their program and the impact on student learning with respect to the ACS WASC criteria and other accreditation factors.
Every six years, accredited schools conduct a self-study and host a self-study visit. The self-study process culminates in the refinement of a schoolwide action plan. Throughout the accreditation cycle, schools are expected to address the schoolwide action plan and demonstrate evidence of acceptable student achievement and school improvement.
For Northgate, this ACS WASC process will assist us as we engage in an in-depth look at what currently exists and what needs to be improved upon in relation to student learning on campus. We need parents, along with teachers and students, to be a part of this year-long endeavor as we go through our self-study.
Please consider this important parent representation to better Northgate’s future for our students and community. Contact Jon Fey for meeting information.

Please support continued excellence at Northgate
High quality schools are a primary reason most of our families choose to live in the Northgate area, and we ask that you support the Education Fund in order to maintain and enhance the excellence at Northgate High School. The Northgate Education Fund is the PFC’s primary source of funds to bridge the gap between public funding and the true cost of the full educational experience we want for our students.
The Education Fund is the PFC’s primary fundraiser for the school year. Every student benefits from your Education Fund donation and 100% goes back into the school.
The encouraged donation for 2015-16 is $350 or more per student. With a donation of $350 or more you will be part of Northgate’s Education Fund Donor Circle:
- Bronco Level $350 to $624
- Crimson Level $625 to $1,249
- Gold Level $250 to $2,499
- Honor Society $2,500 or more
Donor Circle donors will receive special acknowledgement in PFC Publications and a window decal.
Your donation funds Technology purchases, the College and Career center, licensed on-site support counselors, on-site computer technician, extra class periods, teacher training and development, and more.
