The NHS Social Studies Department is still looking for 10 more parent volunteers to participate in this year's Mock Congress sessions on December 10-11.
Volunteers can choose to work the morning shift (8:00am - Lunch), afternoon shift (Lunch - 3:00pm) or the all-day shift (8:00 - 3:00pm). Volunteers will be assigned a "Senate" where they will take notes and make observations about the student Senators' participation and behavior.
Mock Congress is an annual student-led activity for the senior class which simulates the American Legislative process. After months of preparation, Mock Congress culminates on December 10-11 when student bills are sent to the Senate floor to be debated, amended and then either passed or defeated by the student Senators.
Please contact Ben Campopiano if you are interested in volunteering or have questions. Please visit the NG Social Studies website, "Projects" webpage for more information about Mock Congress.
Join your friends and family at the 23rd Annual Turkey Trot. This family-fun event, with 10K, 5K and Kids' Runs, is a great way to start your Thanksgiving holiday and show support for your community and your schools. Last year's proceeds from the Turkey Trot generated over $15,000 for our six PEAK Education Foundation schools. We need your support to make this year even more successful. We need help handing out race materials beforehand, checking in participants, working at water stations, serving as race guides, etc. It takes over 200 volunteers so we need YOU!

High quality schools are a primary reason most of our families choose to live in the Northgate area, and we ask that you support the Education Fund in order to maintain and enhance the excellence at Northgate High School. The Northgate Education Fund is the PFC’s primary source of funds to bridge the gap between public funding and the true cost of the full educational experience we want for our students.
The Education Fund is the PFC’s primary fundraiser for the school year. Every student benefits from your Education Fund donation and 100% goes back into the school.
The encouraged donation for 2015-16 is $350 or more per student. With a donation of $350 or more you will be part of Northgate’s Education Fund Donor Circle:
- Bronco Level $350 to $624
- Crimson Level $625 to $1,249
- Gold Level $250 to $2,499
- Honor Society $2,500 or more
Donor Circle donors will receive special acknowledgement in PFC Publications and a window decal.
Your donation funds Technology purchases, the College and Career center, licensed on-site support counselors, on-site computer technician, extra class periods, teacher training and development, and more.
